Quif colour makes an industry breakthrough as first colour brand to recommend Colourstart® allergy screening test

Leading professional colour brand Quif has made a drastic move to raise industry standards by recommending Colourstart ready-to-use allergy screening test as an alternative to traditional blob testing.

The divine Quif range comprises Quint:Essential, a superior, great value, high performing professional colour which has a pre-blended base to make colouring super simple.

Its other range, Magi:Colour, uses Micro Dye Technology to enable the colour to penetrate deeper and faster for a more even colour, while preventing colour fade. It’s infused with Rice Protein, Mono’i and Bilberry Fruit Extract for unimaginable colour vibrancy, condition and shine.

Quif products are vegan-friendly, cruelty free, and contain its Magi:Bond technology in both ranges to ensure uncompromised colour. Both ranges have Dual Colour System Technology so that most colours in the range can be used as Permanent or Demi Permanent colour by simply using a different developer making life easier for hairdressers and reduces inventory.

Now, for the first time, Quif is taking a stand as the first professional colour range to officially recognise Colourstart as a means of testing for allergy to hair dye. The Colourstart System is the only clinically proven test for hair colour (PPD) that is licensed by the MHRA for use by consumers at home. The move is very reflective of the ethos of this incredibly forward-thinking brand.

Jonathan Littler, Quif’s Managing Director says:

“We recognise the difficulties many hair professionals and their clients face when trying to follow pack instructions for allergy screening. As a result, we believe compliance to the safety instructions is low. The consequence of not skin testing or, keeping evidence of testing,  can leave a hairdresser without the support of the insurer.

“We’re a responsible brand where quality and convenience are a top priority. By using Colourstart, hair professionals can increase compliance using high quality and fully auditable testing protocols,” he says.

Nick Plunkett, Managing Director of Colourstart says:

“We are delighted that Quif has recognised the need for clarity on skin testing and is championing Colourstart. Our patch test is a result of 15 years of development with leading dermatologists and is the only clinically proven test for colour allergy (PPD).

“Using Colourstart demonstrates a duty of care and because it comes with its own vendors extension insurance. If you use Colourstart and follow our procedures, hairdressers using the system can benefit directly from the protection of the product policy.”
